This polaroid print is in pretty bad shape and the scroll they are holding is over-exposed, but you can read about the presentation in the April 26, 1956 edition of the Atikokan Progress. – download a copy of that issue at this link. They were presented with this scroll plus a new automobile on the occasion of their leaving Atikokan after residing here for 10 years. Come to think of it, this polaroid is probably a reject from the Progress photo-shoot. Since I worked part time there after school, I probably rescued it from the wastebasket. I was a fan of his – I remember Jack Ayers as one of the finest people I ever met.
